I just love Bridget and her thoughtfulness and creativity from I-Do-Weddings in Cincinnati, and found this post on her blog The I-Do View. Something I would have never thought of but something others might consider. Ask around your area rather than throwing out those beautiful or even plain runners.
Bridget, did I tell you I started my wedding planning career in Mt. Healthy, a northern suburb of CINCY eons ago.
Recycled Aisle Runners help brides go green while feeding the hungry!
- November 12th, 2009
I received a call today from Helen Fox, a volunteer for Granny’s Garden School. The group has a program where they charge a minimal fee to give gardeners all they need to succeed in growing enough food for their family with enough left over for a food pantry donation. One of the items they provide to families is a frost cloth to cover the plants as temperatures drop. Helen said the aisle runners from weddings make the perfect frost cloths. If you have a wedding coming up and would like to donate your aisle runner after the big day, please drop it off at the i-do Boutique in Obryonville. We will make sure your donation helps those in need. For more info on Granny’s Garden School, check out their website at http://grannysgardenschool.com/
