Guess where I was during the coldest days in Chicago??

Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort & Offshore Island!!!!!!!!

 

   I was there as the guest of Sandals/ABC with 24 other wedding planners to see and experience Sandals.  What a wonderful 4 days and 3 nights we all had.  The picture above is the sight I witnessed every night as I left my room and walk to one the restaurants for dinner.  I saw 3 brides a one point during their wedding ceremony, reception, or rehearsal dinner.  They usually had a few guests with them and all were enjoying this destination "Weddingmoon" experience as much as I was.

Thank you Sandals and ABC for inviting me on this trip.  I hope I have the opportunity in the future to accompany one of my brides as she walks down the sandy aisle in this tropical paradise.  I know I haven't been able to stop telling everyone about the great food, accommodations and beautiful views in this resort of romance.

Great Wedding Decor Idea

As I was searching for a background for my store's window display of brides in a winter wonderland I came across this wedding blog.

DIY Winter Wedding Snowstorm

Snowflakes are a common theme for winter weddings, but what about a snow storm? This fabulous DIY project from CraftStylish is a Christmas decorating idea but it would be fabulous for a winter wedding. There are so many great ways you could use this idea:

1. Add height and drama to your centerpieces with a snow storm above each table

2. Create a winter wonderland above the aisle in your ceremony venue.

3. Decorate windows in the ceremony or reception areas.

4. Add excitement with a snow storm above your dance floor.

5. create a simple, elegant backdrop behind the head table or the alter.

Oh and the best part? This project uses Dental Floss and labels you can pick up at the local office supply store. SO budget friendly, and yet so chic!!

Waterford has filed Bankruptcy- A 250 year old company

LONDON - Waterford Wedgwood PLC, the maker of classic china and crystal, filed for bankruptcy protection on Monday after attempts to restructure the struggling business or find a buyer failed.

Four administrators from business advisory firm Deloitte were appointed to run the company's businesses in Britain and Northern Ireland, while a Deloitte partner in the Irish Republic was appointed as receiver of Waterford Wedgwood PLC, the ultimate parent of the U.K. companies, and other Irish subsidiaries.

The U.K. joint administrators said they intended to continue to run the business as they seek a buyer. Trading in the company's shares was suspended on the Irish Stock Exchange where they languished at just one-tenth of a euro cent and the company's directors — including Anthony O'Reilly, the Irish publishing magnate who along with his brother-in-law Peter Goulandris owns more than half of all Waterford Wedgwood shares — handed in their resignations.

Maybe now is the time to stock-up!!!! Or not put it on your registry.

Chicago's Own Wedding Planner

FRANK,  of frankeventdesign.com who does some of the most amazing events in Chicago will be featured on Lifetime's Get Married with Colin Cowie hosting.  The first segment will be airing on January 8th and then re-airing on January 22nd in episode 4 and the second segment will be airing on January 15th and re-airing on January 29th in episode 8.  Get Married airs at 7:30 AM ET/PT on Lifetime Television.

Frank has been a great mentor and friend of mine.  We both carry the title of Master Bridal Consultant with the Association of Bridal Consultants.  He was the 19th and through his mentoring  I became one of only 37 worldwide and I still learn so much from his camaraderie.
